in Cumbre del Sol (Summit of the Sun), nestled in the Spanish municipality of Benitachell. Benitachell is situated between
Moraira and Javea on the northern province of Costa Blanca.
In the distant past, Benitachell was an Arab outpost but is now a small agricultural village with ample amenities. Orange groves
and vineyards are all familiar sights along the roads. The locals
are friendly and the pace of life is relaxed!
Cumbre del Sol is a residential development of villas and apartments which lies on the hillside of Mountain Puig de
Llorença, on the Mediterranean coast. It is only 1 km from Benitachell village. It is a well known touristic destination as
its location (170 m above sea level) offers spectacular
panoramic views of mountains, cliffs, shores and the clear
blue Mediterranean sea. Cape La Nao, the most easterly
point of Spain, can be seen as well as the villages of Javea, Teulada, Moraira, Calpe and Benissa.
Cumbre del Sol has several walking/hiking trails of its own. In addition, it is possible to hike across to the natural park of Granadella, the natural reserve areas of Puig de la Llorença
and El Portet de Moraira. The local beach in Cumbre del Sol,
Moraig Beach, with its impressive Los Arcos Cove is only 5
minutes drive away from Saffron Apartment! For golf lovers,
the pleasant 9 hole Javea Golf course in Benitachell is only 2.5
km away.
For those who are more adventurous, Cumbre del Sol's great
location acts as a stepping stone to nearby attractions and destinations! Close proximity to the nearby towns of Moraira-
less than 10 minutes drive (Marina, Sandy Beaches & Rocky Coves), Javea-less than 10 minutes (Beaches/Playa del Arenal, Marina, Open Air Market, Watersports), Denia-less than 30
minutes drive (Castle, Harbour, Marina, Beaches, Jet Ski/Diving Excursions) and Calpe- less than 30 minutes drive (Ancient
Walls, Serene Bay, Roman Remains, Penon De Ifach /Volcanic Rock).
For shopping enthusiasts, Denia's market day falls on Monday, Javea's on Thursday, Moraira's on Friday and Calpe has a market day on Saturday morning!
The theme parks of Terra Mitica, MundoMar, Aqualandia etc
are only 40 minutes away at Benidorm. Discounted tickets
for these may be purchased at the Salco office in Cumbre
del Sol (next to La Cumbre Restaurant).
You can enjoy your stay in Saffron Apartment at any time
of the year as Cumbre del Sol enjoys superb all year round
climate. There are approximately 325 sunny days in a year!
In Summer, temperatures tend to range between 25-35
degrees celsius during daytime. Winters in Benitachell tend
to be much milder than Northern Europe with many clear
sunny days. Travel is not advised in the month of November
as shops/attractions tend to close for the season and reopen
in December.
Benitachell is located midway between Alicante and Valencia: approximately an hour’s plus drive from Alicante and Valencia Airports (100km). Low cost flights are available from many
places in the UK to Alicante or Valencia Airport from Monarch,
BMI Baby, Easy Jet, Jet 2 Com, Ryan Air etc.

Car hire is essential to thoroughly appreciate this region of
Spain. This can be done online or at the Spanish airport
terminals-Hertz, Avis, Solmar, Record Go, Sixt etc. From Alicante or Valencia Airport, exit AP7-E15 (autovia) to either Junction
63 or 62 respectively,follow the signs to Benitachell and Cumbre del Sol.
